Vconect sharing cocreation know-how in Barcelona

Vconect shares stories of interactions between technologists and artists.

Erik Geelhoed and Ian Biscoe from Falmouth University and Doug Williams from BT took to the stage - as presenters - to share insights gained in Vconect about co-cretaion of innovation with performance artists at a workshop organsied at Insitut del Teatra entitled "Co-creation, distributed performances and alternative content for the big screen"

Vconect is not "about" theatre.  But the choice of performance as one of the use-cases for Smart Video Communications has led us to work in, and to make advances in, an emerging field sometime called e-Performance.  The work carried out on "The Tempest" with Miracle Theatre; on "Portraits for a Study" with composer Jim Aitchison and on other projects with which partners have been involved has given us practice and expertise in working in partership with artists.

Erik, Ian and Doug discussed their recent projects highlighted some issues about "ways of working" and about the promoting the experience first, and of technology becoming invisible, but invaluable.
